This Book is Okay -

The book is very informative, however, I feel that it could be better written instead of "Aurora Sauce - Cream based sauce mixed with stewed tomatoes." Its hard to understand what I, as a budding chef, need to add to it. Do I add it to taste? Do I add a certain amount? It doesn't really specify. I also feel like this book needs pictures. Better pictures than the diagrams, those are okay, but it needs pictures of what the sauces look like. That's what I would recommend.

Nice first part, scattered towards the end

The first part of the book deals with the product-development war between Apple and Google. Very dramatic, insightful and well-written. Apart from the dramatic work stories from the insiders at Google and Apple, it also covers a number of strategic non-trivial points, and is a very good read.
The last part opens up a general topic of 'where is the revolution headed' and describes the current relationship tension between the media companies (who provides content) and the 'internet' companies (who are increasingly providing the platform, e.g. Netflix). Typically, this part should be a book by itself, if it has to rise above what most people already know. The treatment of this topic in the book is weak, and makes for a scattered last part.

A must read - great background and story telling in a drama that is still unfolding

I read this on a recent flight and highly recommend it. As someone who was at many of Apple's product launches, I'm impressed by the unofficial stories that the author was able to unearth. This is a thoughtful, deeply researched, and enjoyable book to read.

Very Interesting Book!!!

The book chronicles the actions that led to the Apple/Google war. The book gives details of the struggles and accomplishments by each company in regards to each important product they launched. The book also highlights the relationship between Google owners (Brin, Page and Schmidt) and Apple founder (Steve Jobs). It reveals each person’s character and the method in which they run their companies. The fallout between both parties is an important lesson to entrepreneurs. When business is involved, you can’t rely on friendship or loyalty; and protecting your ideas by the law (patents, copyrights, etc.) is very important if you want the credit that you deserve.

I’m not a person that likes to read; actually I can’t remember the last time I read a book, but this book was very interesting. I learned a lot about the products I use every day. I have an IPod Touch and a Samsung Galaxy S3; and to learn about the process of developing these products was very informational. I’m not a tech person but I understand the difficulties of technology and the sacrifice it takes to advance the market. The book kept me interested. With each chapter I wanted to know what would happen next. I can’t say that this book will make me want to read more but I will say I am going to recommend this book to others.

I’m a University of Baltimore student enrolled in the Entrepreneurship course and this was my recommended reading.

Good info, needs editing.

There is lots of good information in here. I didn't realize it was a totally unedited draft. I had a lot of trouble in the beginning where the grammar and spelling are atrocious. It got better as the book progressed, and I got more used to it. The author has released an edited version called "The Christian Demonologist" so I would advise trying that.

Comprehensive and definitive solutions for the road weary!

Books about the paranormal and supernatural come and go. For the most part many are filled with 'wiki-masters' looking to cash in the the media hype and bandwagon of popular entertainment. Many others are coming from such a lofty and "churchy" experience, it's difficult to follow and much harder to keep up with. Books of this genre are either over simplified with to many options with very little sense given to the solutions offered or they are so dedicated and technological you almost need a degree in that theology to entertain the solution!

This specific edition is meant to be purchased with the original title of "The Catholic Demonlogist" to get the maximum benefit of a general overview of what it really takes to be a "demonologist" and protect yourself and those around you. This one appears to be unbiased, Christian based solutions that don't step on to many toes, allowing for the readers own belief system to be incorporated into the solutions offered. The solutions are Catholic, yet give many Christian solutions that are time tested and work efficiently. The historical research of the 'demonologist' represented here is indicative of the years spent reading, practice helping people in the field and obviously much trial and error. While much is to be said for PhD's and such, this author has nailed experience to the pages of this book and offered it up as evidence to the reader.

The author(s) write as they speak, simple without pretense and with a sense of urgency to assist people. It's very clear in the way they explain things and are dead set on what works and what won't for you, they care about the reader. It's also clear that anyone of any faith structure or lack thereof could pick this up, thumb through it and find it interesting, informative and greatly helpful.

This isn't snack time reading. This is meat potatoes of the investigator to educator. It's a worthwhile reference and read for anyone inquiring into any of the varied forms of paranormal and wanting a direct source to turn to when so many are full of ego or cash driven motives you are guaranteed to get and unvarnished opinion here. The author even goes so far as to offer their expensive years of actual field experience personally, should you need it. It's rare enough to see authors that write with an urgency of emotion and it's even more so when they offer to assist as part of their personal commitment to their choice of vocation.

I'd give this book 5 stars due to the overall compass of site to solution. There are many books out there and today everyone on a paranormal team is claiming to be a 'demonologist' - you'll find most don't' even know much less understand the terminology! When reading through this you find that these two people have either witnessed more than they are telling or have experience more than they will share with the 'gentle' reader. Great reference book! easy read!

Reasonably good material; frustratingly careless errors in material

This is a reasonably good text that balances a course of instruction with reference material that might be used in implementing the information the book presents. The text is comprehensive in that it provides, as promised, a solid introduction to HTML, XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript -- all of that is quite good.

There is, however, one huge and frustrating drawback. Either in the book or in the code that can be downloaded in tandem with the text, there are just too many careless errors and discrepancies. One can almost count on any exercise or example's having at least one misleading mistake. Many errors are just obvious looking at material on the printed page (as just typical examples: Why would there be two "TO:" boxes on an e-mail form? see page 212; why isn't there a "

Good start

This is actually one of the better books I have found so far for knitting petwear. All the patterns are basically two different styles- sweaters and something that looks like a cape with a tab on the underneath. The book has patterns that emerge from either of those basic styles. I would recommend some general knitting experience with this book- the stitches range from basic stockinette to cable, but you probably should have some knitting instructions to understand. There's also patterns for a cute hat and scarf/collar. All are very quicknit even if you only have a couple hours. I finished my first one, a sweater, in 3 hours. My second one took about 4 hours because of the smaller needles. The patterns are for small dogs around 18 inches in body length or shorter.

good - better than other dog knit books

My problem with most dog sweater books is that the sweaters are sooo ugly. In PuppyKnits there are some designs of questionable taste, (and that scarf thing looks painful) but MANY with dignity and class. I love the little cable jacket and the felted coat. I also like that there are 3 basic coat styles, (one that is very good for boy dogs- if you know what I mean) and nothing with sleeves. Personally, I've never seen any dog look good in anything with sleeves.

Eaton seems fixated on one kind of yarn, (manos). Great yarn but she gauges it as worsted and I think its a bulky yarn. I'd use a real worsted instead in the patterns. I did and it worked well.

Pretty Stinkin' Cute...

...that's what the patterns (and models!) in this little book are. I have to preface the technical aspects of my review with a disclaimer here-- I am generally not a fan of pets wearing clothing, my own Jack Russell having heartily given me a "No, MA'AM!" on the subject, but if you MUST...these little numbers are, as stated, pretty stinkin' cute. Now, on to the tech specs: If you possess a basic knowledge of knitting (i.e., cabling, increase/decrease, using double-pointed needles) you're in like Flynn! Plus it's a great way to get rid of those half-used skeins everyone has at the bottom of their yarn basket, as no project requires anywhere near a full 300-yd skein to complete. (If you have a large or even medium-sized dog, however, look for "Big Dog Knits" by the same author; these patterns are strictly for what my family lovingly refers to as "kick-me dogs".) The stripy buttoned-up sweater was literally my first knitting project EVER this past weekend and I had zero trouble whipping it up-- although, as a crocheter who lives for deviously nasty lace motifs, I may have had an advantage over the typical knitting virgin. Even so, this is a good way for the beginning knitter to ease out of Scarfland...if for no other reason that doggie sweaters work up way quicker, and with way less yarn, than their human counterparts!

P.S.--My reasons for knocking off a star: the felted collar thingy, which looks incredibly uncomfortable on that poor little Pug, and the puppy fez. Ruh-DONK, people.
